TAR is a process for identifying relevant electronic documents using a combination of expert human input and technology based on predictive coding. It allows the number of electronic documents requiring review to be reduced more accurately and within a much shorter timeframe than with a manual review.

Ireland was the first jurisdiction after the US to endorse TAR, and the judgement is a significant step forward in the management of large discovery exercises. It enables clients to better manage their discovery costs when dealing with very large volumes of electronic data and is a pragmatic approach to the better management of commercial litigation.

Our experience in data analytics and ECA allowed us to develop bespoke workflows to quickly identify relevant documents and to eliminate large tranches of documents which did not require manual review. In this way, significant time and costs efficiencies were achieved.
