Martina is a senior member of the firm’s Knowledge Team specialising in real estate law.

Martina has been at the forefront of real estate practice in Ireland for more than 20 years, acting and advising on some of the highest-profile transactions in that period.  She has extensive experience, both transactional and advisory, on single and multi-asset acquisitions and disposals, leases and estate management (both commercial and residential) and the real estate aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions, funding and development, renewable energy projects, insolvency and disputes.

More recently Martina’s practice encompasses evolving regulation in the areas of ESG, housing, residential tenancies and property services as well as horizon-scanning for changes in law and regulation affecting the real estate sector, analysing the practical impact for clients generally and enabling delivery of better advice, faster.

Key highlights include:

  • delivery, as part of a wider collaborative forum, of a commonly adopted certificate of title for use in commercial real estate transactions, something which has been transformative for real estate practice and real estate financing;
  • key expert contributor of legal precedents with practical guidance for the Lexis+ Ireland modules of Lexis Nexis;
  • advising two international student accommodation providers on the application of residential tenancies legislation to student-specific accommodation as a key regulatory aspect of their business in Ireland;
  • advising international retailer on the overall structure of their legal documents and on the incorporation of clauses to reflect their ESG strategy;
  • advising approved housing body on proposed scheme for social housing delivery and charitable organisation on approved housing body regulation and statutory compliance obligations.
