Our Knowledge Group is expanding to ensure that the firm has the right insights and tools to deliver strategic, commercially-focused and forward-looking advice and to ensure that our clients have the valuable insights and tools they need to best support and grow their businesses.
As part of that expansion, we are recruiting a senior Corporate Knowledge Lawyer.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Corporate Group’s partners and other Knowledge Lawyers throughout the firm and will report directly to the firm’s Head of Knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementing the firm’s Knowledge Strategy within the Corporate Group.
- Developing, maintaining and updating the Corporate Group’s template documents and precedents.
- Monitoring legal, regulatory and market developments relevant to the Corporate Group and its clients, and horizon scanning for future developments.
- Creating insights, thought leadership, and horizon-scanning publications for the firm’s website and its clients, and contributing to relevant industry publications, in each case to further promote and maintain the Corporate Group’s client base and market profile.
- Collaborating on the development and maintenance of the firm’s knowledge-sharing platforms (both internal and client-facing), and creating (or overseeing the creation of, as appropriate) content for those platforms.
- In conjunction with the Legal and Professional Development Group, designing and delivering training to the Corporate Group and the wider firm.
- Leading and otherwise contributing to presentations to clients.
- Contributing to tenders and presentations to target clients.
- Formulating advice to clients on complex or novel legal and regulatory matters.
- Overseeing research by other members of the Corporate Group.
- Participating in industry bodies / committees.
- Working on other knowledge projects where strategically important to the work of the Corporate Group, the Knowledge Group and the wider firm.
- Collaborating with the firm’s Legal and Professional Development, Marketing and Communications, Clients and Business Development, Project Services and Technology teams on strategically important projects aligned with the firm’s continued investment in the future of legal services (including but not limited to legal technology tools).
Your Skills
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience with a particular focus on corporate law, ideally with a leading Irish or international law firm or in independent practice in the Law Library.
- Strong proficiency in drafting legal materials.
- Strong technical and academic interest and ability in the highlighted areas.
- Keen interest in developing the profile of knowledge services in corporate law.
- An ability to exercise sound judgement and decision-making with a proven ability to manage and complete projects.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interest in developing, maintaining and (including through training) sharing relevant legal and regulatory knowledge.
- Positive attitude and a good team player.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all colleagues in the firm and with clients, verbally and in writing.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills, the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and to meet deadlines on an ongoing basis.
- High degree of discretion and the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- A positive and proactive attitude, a willingness and ability to take ownership and responsibility for the completion of tasks and the ability to take and demonstrate initiative.
Education
The successful candidate will have:
- An excellent academic background (hold at least a 2.1 honours degree in any discipline).
- Qualified as a solicitor or barrister in Ireland, Northern Ireland or England and Wales.
