McCann FitzGerald LLP is one of Ireland’s premier law firms employing approximately 600 people. We provide the highest quality legal advice and representation to Irish and overseas clients. Our clients are principally in the corporate, financial and business sectors and we also advise government entities and many state bodies, pension funds, and educational institutions.

We currently seek to recruit an associate to join our team of experts in the Corporate Banking Group.  This group advises banks, borrowers and a number of alternative finance providers operating in the Irish market in relation to debt transactions. The group has a particular current specialisation in the area of real estate finance.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will form part of a well-established team which engages in a wide variety of transactional and advisory work, including advising in relation to:

  • Construction and real estate finance;
  • Acquisition financing;
  • Fund financing;
  • Restructuring and insolvency;
  • Mezzanine financing; and
  • Financing transactions involving qualifying investor alternative investment funds and limited partnership structures.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years PQE with a particular focus on Corporate Banking;
  • Strong drafting skills;
  • Proficient research skills;
  • A strong analytical ability;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making;
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills;
  • The ability to manage a busy workload and meet client needs on a consistent basis; and
  • A keen interest in maintaining, developing and sharing relevant legal knowledge.


The successful candidate will:

  • have an excellent academic background; and
  • be qualified as a solicitor Ireland and / or England and Wales.
