The Role

McCann FitzGerald LLP is one of Ireland’s premier law firms employing approximately 600 people. We provide the highest quality legal advice and representation to Irish and overseas clients. Our clients are principally in the corporate, financial and business sectors and we also advise government entities and many state bodies, pension funds, and educational institutions.

To help us meet consistently high demand for our services, we currently seek to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate who will work in our Finance Group.  Our award-winning finance lawyers have worked on many of the most innovative financing structures and transactions in the Irish market over many years. We represent both the providers of finance and financial services solutions, as well as corporate borrowers and counterparties.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will become part of a high performing team which engages in a variety of transactional and advisory work within the financial markets, including:

• Acquisition finance, real estate finance and other loan finance
• Debt capital markets
• Structured finance and securitisation
• Corporate treasury

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

The successful candidate will have:

• strong drafting skills;
• proficient research skills;
• a strong analytical ability;
• excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
• ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making;
• ability to work in pressurised situations;
• strong organisational and prioritisation skills; the ability to manage a busy workload and meet client needs on a consistent basis;
• a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
• a keen interest in maintaining, developing and sharing relevant legal knowledge.

Education

The successful candidate will:

• Be qualified as a solicitor or barrister in Ireland and/or England and Wales;
• Have an excellent academic background.
