Catherine is Of Counsel in the Technology & Innovation Group of McCann FitzGerald LLP providing specialist advice to clients on data protection, technology, intellectual property, outsourcing, cybersecurity and digital regulation.

Catherine has been recognised as a key lawyer in Legal 500 for Data Protection, Information Technology and Life Sciences. She was also shortlisted as a Rising Star for Ireland in the 2025 Managing IP awards. Catherine has also delivered workshops on various data protection topics.

Key highlights include:

  • Advising a global biopharmaceutical company on various life sciences and commercial contracts. Catherine also advised them on a global data transfers project following the Schrems II decision.
  • Advising Ireland’s funding agency for research and innovation on various funding partnerships and collaboration agreements.
  • Advising a leading health insurer on a number of digital transformation projects including for an electronic health records system.
  • Advising a number of financial services entities on the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
  • Advising a media organisation on one of Ireland’s most high profile security incidents which involved representing the client before the Data Protection Commission.
  • Advising on some of Ireland’s largest outsourcing technology agreements for public sector clients operating in utilities, transport and other sectors.
  • Advising clients on the lawful deployment of AI and training models with personal data.
  • Supporting private and public sector clients with data protection compliance and cybersecurity laws, including NIS 2.
  • Assisting on various corporate transactions by providing advice on data protection, IP and technology aspects of transactions and advising on transitional services arrangements.
