In this context, sustainable finance has emerged as a key lever to enable sustainable outcomes by helping to support the transition and by financing sustainable business through the integration of environmental and social considerations into investment and lending decisions. Much of the growth in this market to date has been market-driven, demanded by investors and lenders and supported by frameworks and principles subscribed to on a voluntary basis. However, led by the European Union, this period of largely self-regulation is now transitioning towards a more regulated sustainable finance market underpinned by mandatory disclosures by financial institutions and companies. In this webinar, Éamon Ó Cuív considered the implications of this.
