Important Notice: Fraudulent Communications Purporting to be from McCann FitzGerald

McCann FitzGerald has become aware of a number of fraudulent communications sent by third parties seeking to obtain or redirect payments, including using misspelled domains designed to resemble legitimate McCann FitzGerald email addresses. The emails currently identified purport to come from a fictional employee, Aisling O'Connor, and are sent from the fraudulent domain mcanfitzgerald.com. Some communications also falsely appear to originate from our Managing Partner, Stephen Holst.

These communications are not from McCann FitzGerald and should be treated as fraudulent. Recipients should not act on any payment request, open any links or attachments, or provide any financial, banking or confidential information in response.

We wish to reassure clients and contacts that McCann FitzGerald's systems, networks and data have not been compromised. This matter involves unauthorised third parties impersonating the firm through fraudulent communications.

McCann FitzGerald has not changed its bank account details. Any payment instructions or requests purporting to come from the firm should be independently verified using known contact details before any action is taken.

We have reported this matter to the relevant authorities, engaged our IT security providers and taken steps to have the fraudulent domain classified as malicious.

If you receive a suspicious communication claiming to be from McCann FitzGerald:

  • Confirm that the email is coming from the correct @mccannfitzgerald.com domain.
  • Independently verify the request with your usual McCann FitzGerald contact using known contact details.
  • Do not click on any links or open attachments.
  • Follow your organisation's internal procedures for reporting suspicious communications.

If you are unsure about the authenticity of any communication claiming to be from McCann FitzGerald, please contact your usual McCann FitzGerald representative or email inquiries@mccannfitzgerald.com.
