McCann FitzGerald Advises Sirius Aviation Capital/Corrum Capital Management Joint Venture on the Acquisition of Five Aircraft from BOC Aviation

We advised Sirius Aviation Capital in the establishment of a joint venture with Carolous Aviation Leasing to purchase a portfolio of five aircraft.

The portfolio consists of three Boeing 737 aircraft on lease to Southwest Airlines, Co., one Airbus A320 aircraft on lease to Spirit Airlines, Inc. and one Airbus A320 aircraft on lease to Etihad Airways PJSC.  We also advised the joint venture vehicle in its acquisition of these aircraft from BOC Aviation.

Sirius’ share of the joint venture was funded by its commitment from its anchor investor, Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners (ADCP).  ADCP is a joint venture between Falcon Edge (a US investment company) and Mubadala Investment Company (the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi).  Carolous Aviation Leasing is a portfolio company of Corrum Capital Management.

Niall Best and Ciara O’Herlihy advised Sirius on the corporate aspects of this transaction and Joe Fay, Ronan Murphy and Jennifer White advised Sirius and the joint venture vehicle on the aviation aspects of the transaction.
