McCann FitzGerald LLP advises Titan Aviation Leasing on the launch of a US$410 million freighter aircraft investment joint venture platform with Bain Capital

We are pleased to have advised our long-standing client, Titan Aviation Leasing, on the establishment of Titan Aircraft Investments II, DAC (“TAI 2”), a new freighter aircraft joint venture investment platform launched by Titan Aviation Leasing (“Titan”), a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide (“Atlas”), in partnership with Bain Capital.

Backed by a US$410 million capital commitment from Atlas and Bain Capital, TAI 2 builds on the success of Titan Aircraft Investments I, LTD (“TAI 1”), which was launched in 2019 with US$400 million in capital commitments. Under TAI 1, Titan acquired 19 freighter aircraft, leased to 11 lessees worldwide. TAI 2 will continue the platform’s strategy of acquiring, leasing, and managing cargo aircraft, including oversight of passenger‑to‑freighter conversions, to meet growing global demand for dedicated freighter capacity, driven by e‑commerce expansion and supply chain evolution.

The McCann FitzGerald team was led by Richard Gill and Niall Best with support from Sacha Kemp and Aonaid Carr.
