McCann FitzGerald advises ESB on First Public Green Bond Issuance by an Irish Corporate
ESB has successfully placed a €500 million 1.125% fixed-rate green bond maturing in June 2030, the first public bond issuance by an Irish corporate aligned with the International Capital Market Association’s Green Bond Principles. ESB has committed to allocating the proceeds of the transaction to finance eligible green projects, including renewable energy generation, network connections for onshore wind farms and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. ESB’s Green Bond Framework together with Sustainalytics' Second Party Opinion is available at www.esb.ie/ir. The bond is listed on the regulated market of Euronext Dublin.
In 2018, McCann FitzGerald advised the Irish National Treasury Management Agency on Ireland's first sovereign green bond issuance.
