McCann FitzGerald LLP named Patent Litigation Firm of the Year in Ireland at Global IP Awards

The Global IP Awards highlight the outstanding depth of IP legal expertise available to corporate teams as they seek to protect and enforce their intellectual property. This year, winners across 80 jurisdictions were identified as the stand-out performers in their regions through 2022-2023, with McCann FitzGerald LLP announced as overall winner in patent litigation for Ireland.

McCann FitzGerald’s dedicated IP practice covering the full-spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters is led by Partners Fiona O’Beirne, Shane O’Brien, Paul Lavery, Adam Finlay and Doug McMahon, and supports leading domestic and multinational clients in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, telecoms, IT, consumer goods and retail sectors.

As well as patent disputes and litigation, the team advises clients on a range of IP rights, including patents, copyright, trade marks and passing off, the protection of domain names, confidential information and trade secrets and IP issues arising out of M&A transactions.

Recent significant patent/SPC litigation cases include acting for Bristol-Myers Squib in Commercial Court proceedings against Teva; acting for Biogen in Commercial Court proceedings against Neuraxpharm; and acting for Pfizer in Commercial Court proceedings against ModernaTX Inc.
