Senior appointments at McCann FitzGerald’s Investment Management Group

McCann FitzGerald announced today that Iain Ferguson will return as a partner to its Investment Management Group.

Iain trained and qualified as a solicitor in McCann FitzGerald and recently practised in a leading international asset management business. He has significant expertise in structuring and advising on a wide range of UCITS/AIFs, including ETFs, structured products and hedge funds. He is a member of the Irish Funds ETF Working Group since its formation.

Iain will join the established and market-leading Investment Management Group adding to the team of internationally recognised experts operating across a variety of disciplines and sectors.

Commenting on the appointment Mark White, Head of the Investment Management Group at McCann FitzGerald, said: "We are delighted to welcome Iain back to the firm. Iain’s extensive experience in the funds industry will enhance McCann FitzGerald’s capacity to provide specialist advice on the full range of legal, regulatory, tax and derivative issues relating to investment funds."

The firm is further reinforcing its status as a market leading funds practice with the announcement that Hugh Beattie, Head of McCann FitzGerald’s London office, will move to the Investment Management Group as a London-based partner. Hugh has been engaging in funds work for a number of years, building on his extensive banking and financial services experience including debt capital markets, structured finance, financial regulation, securitisation and corporate treasury.

McCann FitzGerald’s London office provides a full service to international clients who require senior level expertise in Irish domiciled funds. The Investment Management Group is led in Dublin by Mark White and, with the addition of Mr. Ferguson and Mr. Beattie, will now comprise six partners and two consultants.
