Data centres

Our experience includes advising:

  • DigitalBridge on the Irish aspects of its full-function joint venture with Liberty Global to create AtlasEdge, a leading European edge data centre business with over 100 active edge facilities across Europe
  • KKR and Global Infrastructure Partners on the Irish aspects of the $15bn take-private acquisition of CyrusOne, at the time, the biggest data centre acquisition in history
  • EQT on the Irish aspects of its acquisition of EdgeConneX for $3bn
  • Vantage Data Centers on various Irish law aspects of their data centre developments in Dublin, including planning, energy, real estate, construction, operations and debt financing
  • Pure Data Centres on their development management agreement for a data centre constructed in Ireland
  • A leading operator on their planning application for its €1bn data centre campus outside Dublin
  • Morgan Stanley and United Overseas Bank as mandated lead arrangers in the financing of the development of Echelon’s data centre campus in Dublin. 
  • A consortium of international lenders on the financing a data centre development in Norway with eventual capacity of 150MW, including power and colocation agreements

Towers

Our experience includes advising:

  • Vodafone Ireland on the spin-out of its Irish towers business into Vantage Towers, a pan-European mast company comprising 68,000 towers across nine markets
  • Cellnex on Irish aspects of its acquisition from CK Hutchison of 3 Ireland's 2,399-site towers portfolio, part of six related transactions valued at €10bn that added c.24,600 sites across Europe
  • AMP Capital Investors (UK) Limited on the sale of Towercom Limited, Ireland's largest independent telecom towers company (409 towers)
  • Vodafone Group plc on the partial divestment of indirect shareholdings in Vantage Towers AG via the establishment of a co-controlled joint venture company

Fibre and Subsea Cables

Our experience includes advising:

  • Cordiant on the acquisition of the Speed Fibre Group from AMP for €190m, and the wholesale fibre and business connectivity unit of BT Communications Ireland
  • D9 Digital Infrastructure on Irish aspects of divestment of the EMIC-1 intercontinental subsea cable and sale of shares in Aqua Comms DAC to EXA Infrastructure UK Limited
  • Vodafone/Meta on their Irish maritime consenting strategy and usage licence application for the 2Africa subsea cable
  • SFG/Cordiant on the acquisition of BT's Irish wholesale fibre and enterprise business
  • MaresConnect on Irish licensing and development consents for proposed 750MW subsea and underground electricity interconnector linking Ireland and Great Britain
  • ESB on Third-party fibre (FTTB) access to ESB electricity ducts at new housing, including regulatory and competition analysis

Telecoms and Regulatory

Our experience includes advising:

  • ComReg on multiple enforcement proceedings, regulatory investigations, and advisory matters
  • Vodafone Ireland on its strategic partnership agreement with Three Ireland creating a 50/50 joint venture to share physical network and site infrastructure at over  2,000 locations
  • Motorola Solutions, Inc. on the acquisition of shareholdings of Eir and Sigma Communications Group in Tetra Ireland Communications, provider of Ireland's National Digital Radio Service
