McCann FitzGerald launches innovative GDPR Gap Analysis App
A cutting-edge solution that allows companies to assess their GDPR compliance
McCann FitzGerald, one of Ireland’s premier law firms, has today launched an innovative GDPR Gap Analysis app, the first of its kind to be developed using an AI-driven platform. The new app will enable organisations to quickly assess their own level of GDPR compliance and identify areas of major risk where they need to focus their compliance efforts.
Bringing together the knowledge and expertise of its market-leading data privacy lawyers and its dedicated R&D team, with Neota Logic’s award-winning ‘Intelligent Reasoning’ technology, the app uses an advanced weighted scoring system to assess very quickly an organisation’s compliance with its GDPR obligations.
Based on user inputs and with the benefit of Neota Logic’s AI-driven platform, an auto-generated report is produced providing an overall GDPR compliance score, with a breakdown of the areas of major risk. It then delivers high-level recommendations on which areas require the greatest attention to be compliant in time for the 25 May 2018 deadline and, importantly, to assess compliance levels after the GDPR becomes applicable.
Barry Devereux, Managing Partner of McCann FitzGerald, said:
“This is a truly exciting offering and one that is a testament to the tremendous work that the highly-skilled McCann FitzGerald team is doing and the significant investment we are making to offer technology-based, innovative and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
Adam Finlay, Partner Technology and Innovation, added:
“We’re just 4 months away from the application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and there still is a lot of work to be done by organisations to prepare for its implementation. While there is an urgent need to review current data protection practices and consider what changes and updates are required, it’s not too late and this new GDPR Gap Analysis app allows users to make a good start or review progress on their GDPR compliance journey”.
In September 2017, McCann FitzGerald announced that it had entered into an agreement with Neota Logic, creators of a leading artificial intelligence AI-driven platform, to design and market applications to assist McCann FitzGerald’s clients in reducing the time and cost of legal work. The new GDPR Gap Analysis app is the first in a series of digital services that will be launched by McCann FitzGerald as a result of this collaboration.
